Assessment Of The Effect Of Training And Development On Academic Staff Performance In Ahmadu Bello University (Abu), Zaria

📄 Project Abstract

This paper assessed the effect of training and development on academic staff performance in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. The study adopted KirkPatrick learning and evaluation theory which serve as a guide to understanding training and it effect on workers performance. Primary data were collected from 297 respondents through the use of random sampling techniques with the aid of structured questionnaire. Data obtained was subjected to simple descriptive statistical analysis and chi-square was used to compare relationship between the opinions of the groups involved. The 0.05 level of significant was chosen for acceptance or rejection of the null hypothesis. The study hypothesized that there is no significant relationship between training and academic staff performance. The study concludes that training and development enhances performance and recommended that training and research work should be encourage among academic staff of the University.
