ASSESSMENT OF RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF STAFF IN COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN NORTH CENTRAL ZONE OF NIGERIA

The purpose of this study was to assess recreational activities of the staff in Colleges of Education in North Central Zone of Nigeria. To achieve this purpose, six research questions were asked and five hypotheses were formulated to guide the study and tested at .05 level of significance. Literature relating to the study was organized under the following heading: conceptual framework, theoretical framework, empirical review, and summary of literature review. The design was a survey research design. The instrument for data collection was a researcher made questionnaire which contained fifty-six items grouped under five component parts of the assessment of recreational activities namely: philosophies, objectives, recreational activity areas, managing and administering arrangement, period and duration of recreational activities by the staff.
