ASSESSMENT OF COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS' ADMINISTRATION IN BENUE STATE, NIGERIA

📄 Project Abstract

This study was designed to develop and validate the extent of community participation in primary schools' administration. Four research questions and two null hypotheses were formulated. A 42 item questionnaire on primary schools' administration was developed and subjected to face validation and field trial. Sampling techniques were used to draw teachers from grade one schools, those are schools with not less than 15 teachers as staff strength and classes of not less than 30 pupils. The sample for the study consisted of 500 teachers and PTA members drawn from 64 primary schools in the state. Data from the research were analysed using cronbach Alpha, t-test, mean and standard Deviation. The results of this study have shown that in funding, items 1, 2, 3, 7, 10 and 12 reports to a great extent that teachers and PTA members participate in funding of primary schools.
