APPRAISAL OF THE MANAGEMENT OF PRIMARY SCHOOLS BY THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT EDUCATION AUTHORITIES IN BAYELSA STATE (2000-2010)

📄 Project Abstract

The study was carried out to appraise the management of primary schools by the local government education authorities in Bayelsa State. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population comprised headmasters and teachers from Bayelsa and Yenagoa City Education Zones. The sample size for the study was 440 respondents comprising the entire 86 headmasters and 354 teachers, selected using simple random sampling technique. A researcher developed questionnaire was used for data collection. A Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient method was used to obtain 0.90 reliability estimate for the instrument, while three experts face-validated the instrument. Five research questions and two null hypotheses tested at 0.05 level of significant guided the study.
