An XML solution for PRSLTSN

📄 Project Abstract

This report covers the research, design and implementation of an XML solution for the Philosophy and Theology centre of the Learning and Teaching Support Network (PRSLTSN). LTSN is an organisation linking UK higher education institutions with common goals promoting high quality learning and teaching practises and resources. The deliverables of the project are as follows: · XML Schema - a schema specifying the XML document format · XSLT stylesheets - used to convert to and from XML documents · Batch Processing tools - a set of tools written in Java to drive the XSLT transformations and handle file system based storage. The Java tools developed were designed to be as generic as possible, and some of the components developed have been folded back into the open source projects which they extend.
