An Investigation Into The Study Habits And Achievement Of Students In The N.C.E. Programme
📄 Project Abstract
The goal of tertiary institution is to develop in students a lifetime of autonomous learning. An investigation was therefore conducted into the study habits and achievement of students ot Federal College of Education, Kano who are in the Nigeria Certificate of Education (N.C.E.) programme. The objectives of this study include, finding out: i. if there are significant effect of gender, course level and their interactions on study habits with regards to (a) home-work and assignment; (b) time allocation; (c) reading and note-taking; (d) study period procedures; (e) concentration at study; (0 written work; (g) taking examination; and (h) teacher consultations, ii. if there is significant relationship between study habits and achievement. Stratified random sampling method was applied to obtain 327 subjects for the study. These comprise of 204 males and 123 females.
