An Interactive 3D Network Model Generator
📄 Project Abstract
The objective of this project was to design an interactive 3D Network Model which could simplify the design of an effective LAN for two potential users, Mr P Wyles and Mr T Gardner. Both users had expressed dismay at the lack of a solution to their problem. If successful, the system could also be made available to general users on the Internet. Initially, research was carried out to ascertain the need for a 3D Network Model thereby justifying the need for further research and the implementation of a system. Capturing the requirements of the 3D Network Model was achieved through interviewing the two users. A prototype of the system was developed and subsequently evaluated by Mr Wyles and Mr Gardner. With the feedback of these users and HCI research, the functional requirements of the system were determined. The second iteration of the prototype was then developed and subjected to heuristic and user evaluation. The prototype
