📄 Project Abstract

Retirement benefits and indeed Pensions Payments are made to an employee after leaving the services of his/her employers on an agreeable condition. The payments are intended to sustain his life and his dependants in retirement. There are several government rules and regulations governing the payments of retirement benefits in the Public Service. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the management of retirement benefits in the public sector with special reference to Kaduna Polytechnic. The study has the objective of determining the effectiveness of the public sector pension scheme in line with the myriad of public complaints of non-payment of pensions by retirees, it also has the objective of identifying the various problems associated with the processing and payment of benefits.
