This work seeks thematically to demonstrate the universal availability of the idea of Human right and the Principle of Human equality in all cultures of the world. By so doing, it seeks to expose, analyze and evaluate the concepts of Human right and equality in the thought system of the Tiv people of Central Nigeria. The work intends to show the meaning, significance, justification, basis, functions and implications of the notions for the Tiv people, the Nigerian society and the world at large. The work first and foremost, establishes the method of data collection, the nature and scope as well as the historical evolution of the concepts of Human Right and Equality.
