AN EVALUATION OF NATIONAL POVERTYERADICATION PROGRAMME (NAPEP) IN KADUNA STATE OF NIGERIA

📄 Project Abstract

This study assesses the effectiveness of National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) in relation to urban poverty reduction and its urban management implications in metropolitan area of Kaduna State. The methodology adopted were statistical inference that involved survey research, through the use of structured questionnaire and interviews for the collection of data. A total of 200 questionnaires were administered to the beneficiaries on the basis of purposive sampling technique, while the criterion of sampling 10 management Staff was based on the available roll call. The major findings from the study revealed that the process of obtaining loan involves complex processes which are not user friendly. There is also misconception of its targets of economic empowerment to satisfying immediate needs.
