📄 Project Abstract

The absence of any archaeological research carried out on Duhwan hill propelled this survey as the site is already under human and natural threats. This research aimed at reconstructing the past life ways of the people of Duhwan, and was achieved through the consultation of written documents, collection of oral tradition of the people, ethnographic survey of the settlement of the people, identification and documentation of the finds and features found on the hill, analysis of finds and features found on the site and at the end, an archaeological map showing the features identified on the site was produced. The ethnographic survey of the settlement shows cultural continuity between the extinct and extant people of Duhwan. The ethnographic survey of Atakar pottery also shows the relationship of the Bajju and their neighbouring ethnic groups in the past and even at present.
