aDapt Process Modelling Within The National Health Service

📄 Project Abstract

This project aims to assess whether or not providing an electronic medium for the representation of internal business processes within a health care environment can be advantageous over current non-electronic methods. It does this by transferring the processes of two genetics tests from St. James Hospital Clinical Genetics Laboratory (Leeds) into the third party electronic modelling tool aDapt. The process information is obtained from a previous project conducted by a School Of Computing student, and also from the involvement of a number of health workers that work within the laboratory. The subsequent electronic models created are then evaluated (primarily based on feedback from the laboratory staff) to assess whether they provide additional benefits. The aDapt tool is also evaluated to assess its potential use within the electronic health environment.
