📄 Project Abstract

This project is concerned with mathematical modelling of vascular tumour growth. Since cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases in the world, claiming increasingly more lives every year, it is extremely important to understand how it developes and to _x000C_nd a way to stop it. In this project one model of cancer growth is investigated and modi_x000C_ed. This model framework has been developed to reproduce the architecture of tumours that can be found in vivo, in particular, it considers tumours implanted beneath the skin of mice. In this project an exhaustive literature review on biophysical processes accompanying the development of cancer and approaches to mathematical modelling of tumour growth is presented. One such model is chosen, modi_x000C_ed, approximated numerically, and scienti_x000C_cally evaluated, which allows to determine its relevance and applicability to the _x000C_eld of cancer research.
