📄 Project Abstract

InformationThe primary objective of this project was to investigate e-learning and the extent to which it could be implemented in a future version of the DB32 module. Existing e-learning systems were evaluated, recognising which features contributed to making an effective virtual learning environment. An understanding was also gained as to how an online module could be taught successfully, making up for the lack of physical interaction. From the research and analysis carried meant a prototype system could be designed, illustrating how changes to the current DB32 system would need to be made to accommodate for the delivery of a significant part of the module through e-learning. Interviews were also used to obtain the requirements of the prototype, identifying the functional and non-functional requirements of the new system. The prototype was then developed to meet these requirements with testing taking place afterwards to evaluate the proposed solution.
