In the arts, drama and the visual arts are used as instruments with which to entertain, comment and correct socio-political ills within a society. This is especially true in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Hence, drama and visual art are two distinct forms of art among all other forms. However in the realisation of the end products of these two art forms, the two departments in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria have exposed their students to the peculiarities of each form. The experiences gained have exposed visual arts students to possible similarities/differences in styles, themes and approach to problem analysis/resolution between drama and the visual arts. It is therefore as a result of the desire to articulate, expose and show the need for the two art forms to be properly used for the mutual benefit of both drama and visual art students/practitioners that this study is carried out.
