ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is on “Assessment of the Radio and Television Media in the New Era Advertising a Study of Enugu State Broadcasting Service”. The practice of efficient broadcasting is considered to be very crucial in all establishments. Therefore, ESBS should not be left out. It should practice efficient advertising in order to attract viewers and advertisers to patronize its channel. Advertising in the new era is very important, people having become more sophisticated and selective in the channel patronized. Descriptive survey design was used for the study. The data collected and used for the study were mainly primary data and were analysed, interpreted and presented using cross tabulation, frequencies, and percentages cronbach alpha was used to determine validity with a value of 0.95.,. A non-parametric inferential statistics known as chi-square was used to test the hypotheses. Population of the study include the staff of Radio and Television service of Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) and the customer/audience respectively .which numbered 140. A sample size of 55 and 140 for staff and audience/customer respectively were determined. Findings revealed that clear audio, improved 3-D technology, Exciting advertising have no significant effect on ESBS to build a match with new era advertisers’ specifications. The major recommendation made included that Enugu State Broadcasting Station should try and invest hugely on various latest sophisticated media technologies, in the quest to deliver a quality match with the new era advertising, Because that’s the one important factor that new era advertising agencies consider most before placing their commercials. And also the government is advised to support Enugu State Broadcasting Station. and intensify effort in financing the station. And otherwise at least to boost the station performance and also the contribution of effective communication gadget.
